A Labor Day Cake
My husband loves peaches and blueberries - especially in a pie or cake. When I came across this Peach/Blueberry cake recipe on Instagram I knew I wanted to make it for him. I followed the ingredients and instruction exactly as directed in the recipe by Tastes of Lizzy T - check her blog out here: Tastes of Lizzy T.
The ingredients are simple and the cake came together quickly. The three things I will do differently next time:
1) The directions say to use a "stand mixer" - I just grabbed the hand mixer because it was easily accessible - next time I will not be lazy and I will grab my KitchenAid stand mixer because it takes about 5 minutes to mix the sugar and butter to get it smooth and creamy so if I had used the "stand mixer" I could have been doing other things.
2) The recipe calls for a 1/4 cup of sugar for the coating on top of the cake - next time I will use less than what the recipe calls for because I wound up dusting off a good amount of the sugar.
3) The recipe says to bake for 30-40 minutes, but everyone's oven is different - next time I will bake mine for 45 minutes.
Other than that, I did not deviate from Tastes of Lizzy T's delicious recipe. Below are a couple of photos of my cake. Go visit Tastes of Lizzy T and make it!!!
Today's project is what I am calling a Scrapbook Journal/Notebook, however it can also be used for Junk Journaling which is very popular right now.
Quite some time ago, I purchased a tutorial from Sherry Roth of Stamped Treasures to learn how to put the book together and then I designed my own project using papers that I have in my stash along with die-cut shapes and stamps. This was really a fun book to put together.
I have several other styles to share where I used different patterned papers. Subscribe to this blog, my Facebook page and my YouTube channel so that you do not miss a project.
You can view the entire book page-by-page on my YouTube channel (link below).

Welcome to "Craft My Mail"
Hi. My name is Antoinette. I am a wife, mom, grandma and handmade paper crafter based in New York.

I started making scrapbooks with construction paper back when I was a Brownie Leader 25 years ago. I still have my daughter's book and will share that soon. Since then, I have evolved and now use the many paper crafting tools available today. I find paper to be a world of endless possibilities. I will share some more of my paper craft journey in future posts.
Lately, I have been interested in scrapbooking again as that is where my paper crafting journey started. I am also interested in junk journaling or at least creating handmade items to use in junk journaling. I specialize in creating handmade paper goods, ranging from intricately cut cards, custom keepsakes, mini scrapbooks, junk journals and more.
My most recent interest is "snail mail." With that, today's project is the first of a monthly series of what I am calling "Craft My Mail"
Each month I will create a handmade greeting card and matching gift tag. Every cut piece of cardstock/printed paper, stamped image, die-cut image, hand-cut image and every glued detail is done by hand with the hope of bringing a little extra joy to your day and to the recipient you choose to gift the items to.
Also included in your monthly "Craft My Mail" snail mail will be a third item that will be different each month. This month, the additional item is the white gift bag you see in the photo below.
